As I was sitting here listening to music the Holy Spirit was speaking to my heart about God's love. Don't y'all just love it when the Holy Spirit does that? Anyway back to the point. God's love is very difficult for us to understand. It is nothing like the way we love. God loves us because of Him, not because of us. See God loves us because He is love. God loves us because He made us in His image. God's love does not depend on us at all. It is not based on what we do or don't do. It doesn't matter how good you are or how bad you are. The things you do or don't do. God loves us, all of us. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He sent His only begotten Son that whom shall ever believe in Him shall have eternal life.
Nowhere in that verse does it say if the person is good enough or works hard enough. Or helps enough people. If you don't cuse or if you don't steal then He will love you. No, it says He loves you, me everyone and to prove it He sent His 1 and only Son Jesus Christ to die for us, so we would all know how much He loves us.
In the Book of Galatians Paul teaches the church about grace and not works. Grace is the free gift that God gave to the world because He loves all of us too much to let us die in our sins. The punishment for sin is death and hell, eternity separated from God. But God sent His Son so our sins could be washed clean. Because He wants us to love Him back and to spend forever with Him.
God's love is unconditional, it is available to anyone who wants it. He doesn't ask you to clean yourself up before He will love you. He isn't waiting to love you He already does. He always has and always will. See we mistake discipline and correction with someone who is unloving but that isn't true. You correct or discipline those you love so they will stop doing things that can hurt them.
Hebrews 12:6-7 For whom the LORD loves He chastens, And scourges every son whom He receives.” If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten?
We tend to only love people who love us or treat us right but God loves those that hate Him and reject Him and those who killed Him.
No matter what you think you have done God loves you. Once you realize that God loves us because of who He is and what He does and not who we are or what we do then you are ready to be forgiven and trust God.
God loves you so very much. It breaks His heart to see you struggle alone and to try to carry all your worries. Today is the day to repent and ask Jesus to forgive you and to give your life to Him.
Go to our contact page and let us know that you are ready to trust Jesus and we will help you.
God bless you all!
In love,
Pastor Brian
